A chainsaw wielded as a weapon.
A chainsaw is a portable motorized automatic cutting instrument used to cut materials (usually wood) more quickly than with a traditional saw, and has become commonly used in both logging and in home gardening. Chainsaws are so-named because their cutting blades rapidly move attached to a rotating chain. The tools are well known for making a great deal of noise when in use.
Because of the rapidly spinning blade, chainsaws are also extremely dangerous to use without care and caution, as the blades can cut living flesh and bone just as easily as they can cut wood. This extreme hazard has influenced the fictional use of chainsaws as a deadly weapon, made famous by the 1974 slasher film The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Chainsaws have occasionally appeared as a weapon of combat in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
1989 video game[]
A recurring enemy, Chainsaw Maniac, appears in the 1989 NES game. As its name implies, it fights with a chainsaw as its weapon.
IDW[]
In the IDW continuity, the character Bebop used a chainsaw as his preferred weapon, which he named Roberta.
Batman/TMNT[]
The version of Bebop belonging to the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles continuity also wields a chainsaw as his main weapon.
2012 TV series[]
A chainsaw owned by Bernie, the general store owner and former physicist from the episode In Dreams, is wielded by him in an effort to chase down April and Casey during a manic attack due to having not slept for literally four decades.

Bebop utilizes a chainsaw in Rěnzhě Guī OL, much like his IDW counterpart.
Rise of the TMNT[]
In the Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles episode Warren & Hypno, Sitting in a Tree, after Baron Draxum has betrayed both Hypno-Potamus and Warren Stone, he tries to execute Warren with a giant supernatural chainsaw, but Warren is rescued with the combined effort of Hypno, the Turtles and April O'Neil.

Chainsaw is a member of the Purple Dragons in Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
