Synopsis[]

Seated at the desk in his lab, Donatello finishes the last of his work on the Lair Surveillance System. Several monitors are in front of him which show different camera angles. He begins the test phase by going to the kitchen cam.

As it happens, Raphael is in the kitchen, holding a picture of Spike and missing him badly. In front of him is a bowl of fruit, including a watermelon, which gives Raph an idea. Using his sai, he slashes the watermelon in half and begins using the other fruit as well, which amuses Don greatly. With the use of a marker, Raph has soon created a fruit duplicate of Spike, utilizing a pear to form its head.

Happy, Raph holds out a leaf and instructs the new “Spike” to chew on the leaf if he didn’t miss him. Of course, the fruit Spike doesn’t chew the leaf, which makes Raph happy, until he hears a noise coming from the flour sack on the counter behind him. Turning, he spots the camera lens and shouts at Don, who had told them the cameras were to protect the lair, not spy. Then he asks, in a more sheepish tone, if Don was recording any of that.

A wildly laughing Don decides it’s time to move on. He goes to the dojo cam, where Leonardo is practicing his sword work, and pretending to be a great hero. In a soliloquy, he tells the woman he’s saved not to thank him and then comments that it’s nice of her to call him handsome. He then agrees to have coffee with the pretend woman, telling her not to fall in love with him because a hero’s first love is justice. He’s in the middle of his speech when the buzzing of the camera draws his attention to the tree branches overhead. Turning, he yells at Donnie about the surveillance system and what they agreed upon. Then, embarrassed, he asks how much of that Don saw.

Don is laughing and pounding his desk in enjoyment and then switches to the living room cam. There Michelangelo is wearing a salad colander on his head and holding salad tongs as he pretends to be the Shredder. He makes a speech about how he’s going to destroy the Turtles – all except the one in the orange mask, who is the toughest one. A buzzing sound stops him mid-speech and he spots a pizza sitting on a table. Don’s spy camera is inside a chili pepper on top of the pizza, all of it made of plastic.

Mikey attempts to eat a slice anyway, much to Don’s astonishment. Deeming the camera test complete, Don proceeds to fine-tune audio levels and accesses the living room cam again. Raph is seated on the couch and Leo is leaning over him, saying he needs a closer look. He peers into one of Raph’s eyes and agrees that it does look weird. Raph tells him it happened yesterday while fighting the Kraang. He says he’s sure something bit him and he doesn’t feel too…

Before he can finish, Raph begins thrashing around on the couch and making odd noises. Leo calls out, wanting to know what’s happening. Suddenly, eight tentacles burst out of Raph’s shell and both he and Leo scream. Don leaps out of his chair and screams as well, before running into the living room. He shouts that Raph is mutating and they have to help him!

Then Mikey steps out from behind Raph, holding up the “tentacles” he was using to make it appear they sprang from his brother’s shell. Raph and Mikey start laughing and then Leo asks Don if he wants to know how he can help.

He and Raph lean close to Don and shout at the top of their lungs “Stop spying on us!” Mikey crosses his arms and says he personally doesn’t mind the cameras, but Don went too far with the fake pizza.
