Locations in the New York City metropolitan area. Unlike New York City's five boroughs themselves, the metropolitan area does not have a strict boundary, so locations only partially in the area are included if they are still overwhelmingly associated with it; for instance, local cities, islands and waterways, but not entire states or oceans.
