Fish

A fish is any aquatic vertebrate animal that is neither an amphibian, reptile, bird nor mammal. The category is paraphyletic; for instance, sharks and bony fish are both considered fish but are separate families of vertebrates, and yet amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals all evolved from bony fish but are not commonly regarded as fish at all.
