 ANYMORE!

Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids.

In the TMNT series released by IDW Publishing, Casey Jones is a young college scholarship holder and a half-orphan, however he had more love for his sports bat than as intellectual training. Upon his mother's death by cancer, his father became an alcoholic thug who would vent his daily frustration arbitrary on his son. On one such occasion, Casey was saved from another violent beating by Raphael who had at that time lived a solitary life as a street vagrant for a year following his mutation (unaware that he had a family searching for him), and the two quickly became fast friends and fellow vigilantes.

A short time later Casey also met Raphael's brothers and their father Splinter, as they helped these two escape from one of Old Hobs ambushes, and thus became one of their closest confidants. As Casey and Raphael later patrolled the streets of Brooklyn at night, they got in with the mutant Alopex, a creation of the Foot Clan. Shortly afterwards Casey met April O'Neil, who wanted to take self-defense classes from him after her traumatic experiences at StockGen Research. After he learned the reason for it and that her experiences were in connection, with his new friends he made April acquainted with the Turtles. After he was again brutally beaten by his father and the importance of his family situation became clear, to the Turtles and April, Splinter and the Turtles took Casey in to live with them, and over time he and April slowly developed deeper feelings for each other. Later, with the support of the Shredder his father returned to his old life as Hun, leader of the Purple Dragons, which led to the final break for anticipated reconciliation between father and son
