Officer Casey Jones is a human and friend of the Ninja Turtles. He's portrayed by Stephen Amell in the 2016 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
Biography[]
Growing up, Casey always wanted to be a detective in the New York Police Department, even filling out many applications, but effectively became a corrections officer.
He was one of the two corrections officers driving the prison truck that carried Shredder, Rocksteady and Bebop to their long-term facility. However, he was no match for the Foot, who attacked the convoy and cut off the top of the truck. During the battle, he discovered his fellow officer neglected to load the shotgun, which he did so himself while reprimanding him as well as catching a glimpse of the Turtles' garbage truck shooting manhole covers. While attempting to keep the three inmates secure and watching Shredder escaping, Casey was knocked unconscious.
Upon returning to New York, Jones found himself being implicitly blamed for Shredder's escape. When he described what he saw, his superior and NYPD Chief Rebecca Vincent didn't believe him before he was effectively suspended. Frustrated and angry, he decided to track down Bebop and Rocksteady on his own, using a hockey mask to conceal his face, which led him to April O'Neil being chased by the Foot Clan, when she had possession of a vial of purple ooze before circumstances led to it being put into evidence by the NYPD.
He rescued her, only to run into the Turtles mere moments later. Initially the horrified Jones was convinced that they were human-eating aliens, but soon accepted that they were merely giant intelligent turtles. While getting acquainted with the Turtles, Casey spots a giant rat before they coax him into attacking it, only to be defeated as the rat was actually their master, Splinter, and also discovered that they were the owners of the garbage truck that he had seen pursuing the Foot, which convinced the reluctant cop that the Turtles were a force to be reckoned with.
Raphael called Casey in to help the former and Michelangelo steal the vial from NYPD evidence, which Casey only agreed to because Raphael untruthfully said it would help them find Bebop and Rocksteady, also bringing along April's cameraman and supposed hero who defeated the Shredder, Vern Fenwick. However, the plan went wrong as the Foot got to the ooze first, only to be thwarted by Leonardo and Donatello, the Turtles' existence exposed to the police, and Casey and April stalling them to get arrested in order for the Turtles to escape.
Casey and April were then reluctantly released by Chief Vincent, thanks to evidence provided to her by Vern, just as the dimensional portal opened and the Technodrome began assembling, and the NYPD forms a truce with the Turtles. He was sent to go close the portal along with April and Vernon, but ended up going up against Bebop and Rocksteady in a parking garage. He defeated the two mutants by using his ice hockey skills to trap them in a shipping container before incapacitating them with one of Bebop's grenades.
Later, he was present when the Turtles were given the keys to the city.
