The Cardanian buck is the last remaining paper money currency left in the world following The Big Death, with much of the rest of society preferring barter or Empire Credits. Smaller denominations of change are called "bits", and four bits make a buck.
Outside of Cardania, bucks are also accepted in most of the Contested Lands, anywhere with representatives of the Rodent Cartel, and within The Plains of Free Cattle.
