Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
In the IDW continuity, Blind Buck is the name of a blind human homeless man who was Raphael's first friend after mutating. Shortly after becoming a mutant turtle, a panicked Raphael accidentally crashed into Buck's shopping cart. Buck gave Raphael a blanket and some food, and later gave the Turtle the gray hoodie he would wear until he was found by his brothers.
Soon after, Buck and Raphael encountered a trio of street thugs, who struck Buck hard enough to fatally wound him. Raphael was enraged and attacked the criminals for hurting his friend, then held the dying Buck until he passed away. After his loss, Raph was alone again until he encountered Casey Jones during the events of Change is Constant, part 1.
Though Buck only knew Raphael briefly, his kindness and friendship made a great impression on the Turtle, and his loss was very painful.
