Brutus appears in the 1987-1996 animated TV series. He is the head mutant of Dr. Lesseau in the episode What's Michelangelo Good For? and as such is used as Dr. Lesseau's muscle. He appears to be half gorilla and half water buffalo. However, he turns against his creator at the end, along with the other mutants, and apprehends the doctor before he can escape the Turtles.
