I should probably make this clear. There are a lot of things I'll apologize for if someone points them out. I'll apologize for personal insults. I'll apologize for uncivil tone. I'll apologize for a faux pas and other honest personal mistakes. But I won't apologize for a sincere opinion about a TV show. Criticism of works of fiction is a free activity.
I used to really like this show, and it got so bad it became too difficult to watch. My friends who still watch it now and then, tell me it's still been really bad. That concerns me as someone who used to be glued to this show, and still worries about how it will affect other TMNT stuff down the road. I'm entitled that. We all are.
I've already had a long talk with Yoshimickster and I've made a resolution to dial back my tone, especially since I've been feeling TMNT fan gloom recently. It's another rough patch in a fandom that has had many, and I'll live through it.
Meanwhile, we're still allowed to criticize works of fiction, and we're still not allowed to personally attack other users. Sometimes being a fan isn't all about what you're totally enjoying at the moment. Sometimes there are periods of great disappointment in something you like. It is not a productive activity to take offense because someone else dislikes something you like. The TMNT fandom is full of people with opposite opinions about stuff, and it pretty much always has been. In light of this, a little civility goes a long way.
