Synopsis[]
The Turtles are visiting Mr. Murakami's Noodle Shop and dining on pizza gyoza. Michelangelo, in purely dramatic fashion, urges Mr. Murakami to hurry with his second helping of pizza gyoza. Mr. Murakami chuckles and counters by telling Mikey that he’ll be happy to serve him seconds as soon as his finishes his firsts.
Mikey does have a single pizza gyoza on his plate and is astonished that Mr. Murakami could know that, considering he’s “not-seeing-y”. Leonardo cautions Mikey for his indelicacy, but Murakami tells him its all right. He explains that he always serves five gyoza per customer and only heard Mikey’s chopsticks touch his plate four times.
Finding that extremely cool, Mikey tells his brothers it’s like Murakami is part bat or dog or something… like not even human. Donatello comments that they can relate to that. The Turtles then start talking about the fight they just had with the Foot, and how they seem to be getting tougher. Raphael is fine with that because it helps him improve his skills.
Finishing his last gyoza, Mikey stands up and asks one of his brothers to check his shell, because it feels like he fell in some gum during the fight. Donatello takes a look and freaks because it’s not gum, it a tracking device. He removes it from Mikey’s shell and sets it on the counter and Raph promptly smashes it, though Leo tried to warn him not to because it might be a bad idea.
Don agrees with Leo and says it was definitely a bad idea because their enemies will track the signal to where it ended – at the noodle shop. The Turtles race out, hoping to intercept the Foot before they can get there. Leo orders his brothers to fan out and if they run into any Foot, engage and call for back-up. As soon as the Turtles dash off, a pair of Footbots enter Mr. Murakami’s. One of them discovers the busted tracker and then Mr. Murakami calls out “Order up!”, and the Footbots duck behind the counter. When Murakami comes out of the kitchen, he is surprised that the Turtles have gone because it’s not like them to dine and dash.
He decides that he’ll get some chores done, like cleaning up some spilled soup. The Footbots come out from behind the counter, both armed, but one of them steps on the overturned soup bowl and falls, crashing into the Footbot behind him. Hearing the sound, Murakami says he didn’t realize he had customers and wants to know if they’re all right. He offers to treat them to a new specialty of his – roast pork soup with hand-pulled noodles.
As he prepares the dough, the two Footbots creep up on either side of him. Murakami proceeds to explain the secret to the noodles – to knead, roll and stretch. As he demonstrates, he punches both of the Footbots in the face.
Murakami is surprised that his “customers” followed him behind the counter and tells them they must be very hungry, but they need to be careful because kitchens can be dangerous places. He lifts a metal pan just as one of the Footbots charges him from behind, and the soldier smashes face first into it. One of the Footbots tries hitting Murakami with shuriken, but the blind man lifts a cleaver and the metal stars bounce off of it. Then the Footbots try attacking as Murakami takes a pot from the stove and he splashes them with hot broth.
A while later, the Turtles return to the noodle shop, having defeated the rest of the Footbots. Mikey is starving, but Leo is concerned some scouts got past them and got to Mr. Murakami. Raph says they have to make sure the man is all right. They enter the shop and are stunned to see two damaged Footbots and a seemingly oblivious Murakami sweeping up.
Don asks the man if he’s okay and Mr. Murakami says he’s never been better, he’s just been taking care of a couple of customers. The Footbots rise and come towards him, but Murakami cracks on in the stomach with his broom and then kicks the other in the chest. Murakami then tells the surprised Turtles that he thinks those customers have had their fill.
Trivia[]
- After Raph destroys the Foot tracking device, Don says that the “Kraang’ll” track it to Mr. Murakami’s. The Kraang do not appear in this comic.
