[Opening sequence and theme song.]
[Episode begins at the Pizza Emporium and then shifts down to a manhole cover, where Michelangelo is climbing down a ladder with a pizza box tucked under his arm. He runs through the sewers and then enters the lair, where he removes and hangs up his disguise. He then joins his brothers on the couch.]
Donatello "Ah, it sure is nice to have nothing to do for a change."
Michelangelo "You said it, dude. Watching TV and scarfing pizza, now, that's what I call a fulfilled existence."
Splinter "Turtles."
All "Yes, Master Splinter?"
Splinter "This room is a disgrace to ninja standards. I strongly suggest it be cleaned."
[They all begin talking at once as they rush around to clean. Splinter nods and leaves the room. Dust fills the air from the sweeping and Michelangelo sneezes.]
Michelangelo "I think I'm allergic to housecleaning."
Raphael "We're gonna need more brooms.
Michelangelo, is that where you've been keeping your empty soda cans?"
[He opens a closet and a pile of cans fall out, knocking him down.]
Michelangelo, is that where you've been keeping your empty soda cans?"
Michelangelo "Well, I was saving 'em up for recycling."
Donatello "That's great, but there has gotta be an easier way to do this."
Raphael "I heard that."
[Donatello leaves and then returns, pushing Metalhead into the room.]
Donatello "Just crank up old Metalhead here and let him do the dirty work.
Okay, Metalhead, do your stuff."
[He flips the on switch.]
Okay, Metalhead, do your stuff."
[Metalhead’s arm changes to a vacuum and the robot begins cleaning the lair.]
Michelangelo "Primo notion, Donatello."
Leonardo "Yeah, the place'll be clean in no time."
Raphael "Uh, there's just one tiny problem.
I think that high-tech turtle's getting a little carried away!"
[The vacuum sucks up magazines, dishes, wall decorations, etc.]

[Metalhead sucks up the throw rug.]
Donatello "Uh-oh."
[He rushes over a grabs the end of the rug before it’s fully sucked into the vacuum. It pulls hard, but loses his grip and falls backwards. Tucking into a ball, Donatello rolls across the floor and slams into the other turtles, knocking them all down.]
Donatello "Whoa!"
[Metalhead vacuums their shells.]
Michelangelo "Whoa. This dude cleans like a chrome tornado."
Donatello "We gotta deactivate him while we've still got some furniture left."
Splinter "What is all this noise?
Stop! Put me down! That... That tickles."
[Metalhead picks him up and begins vacuuming him.]
Stop! Put me down! That... That tickles."
Raphael "Let me see if I can find the off button from here."
[He tosses a sai at Metalhead’s back and hits the power switch. Metalhead powers down and drops Splinter.]
Michelangelo "Next time, dudes, let's just move to another sewer."
[Cut to the Technodrome, sitting on the volcanic asteroid in Dimension X.]
Krang "I must keep working until I manage to duplicate the original formula."
Shredder "You whipped up enough of this batch to flood Dimension X."
[A fly buzzes around Rocksteady’s head and then lands on his horn. He tries to smack it and ends up hitting himself.]
Rocksteady "Yow!"
[He pulls a bokken and begins swinging at the fly, but only manages to trip and fall down.]
Bebop "Uh, what you doin', Rocksteady?"
Rocksteady "Practicing conducting an orchestra. What does it look like, ham-head?"
Bebop "It looks like you're trying to swat a fly. Here, let me help."
[He yanks a section of metal off of a nearby machine, causing it to spark. Then Bebop begins swinging at the fly, but hits Rocksteady, who is trying to stand up.]
Rocksteady "Hey!"
Bebop "Oops. Sorry. I thought you was the fly."
Rocksteady "All right, this fly is toast."
Bebop "Yeah. Let's make it a firefly."
[They both pull laser pistols and begin shooting at the fly.]
Shredder "Rocksteady, Bebop, stop, you imbeciles!"
[A blast hits several liquid filled beakers that are sitting on a shelf. The beakers break and fall into the vat of mutagen. It starts bubbling and both Krang and Shredder back away.]
Krang "You mutton-headed mutants! You've ruined my mutagen!"
[A fly lands on the floor and walks into the puddle of mutagen. It begins to grow until it is huge.]
Shredder "What happened? Where did that huge fly come from?"
[The fly stalks Bebop and Rocksteady.]
Bebop "N-Nice fly. Good fly."
Rocksteady "Yeah, we're sorry we tried to swat you."
[Krang opens a portal and Shredder shoots several blasts at the fly, making it fly into the portal and leave the Technodrome.]
Shredder "What's going on?"
Krang "It came from this. You two meddling morons have accidentally created something interesting.
This is fascinating. This new mutagen has very specific properties."
[He waves a detection device over the puddle of mutagen.]

[He dips a cup into the vat and throws the mutagen on Bebop and Rocksteady.]
Rocksteady "Hey! What do you think you're doing?"
Krang "Just as I suspected. It only affects insects and arachnids by causing a huge increase in size."
Shredder "That gives me a fantastic idea. Insects outnumber people by a million to one. This could be the weapon we need to finally conquer that miserable Planet Earth, and I have you two bumbling dolts to thank for it-- much as I hate to admit it."
Bebop "Oh, gee. I just love it when the boss gives us compliments."
[On Earth, a bus pulls into a depot to deposit its riders. One of those riders is a frog dressed in a suit and wearing a fake nose as a disguise.]
Genghis Frog "Wow. It's been a long time since my feet have trod the bright lights of the big city. This sure is different from being back home in the swamp."
[Numerous flies buzz around a hot dog cart as the vendor serves a customer.]
Genghis "Here, allow me to help you with those bothersome insects, buddy.
Yum. These city flies are good."
[His tongue darts out to snag the flies in mid-air.]
Yum. These city flies are good."
Vendor "That's it. I'm going back to law school."
[Genghis is walking down the sidewalk when he suddenly stops as a crowd of screaming civilians run in his direction. They all rush past him.]
Genghis "City folk have strange habits.
Boy, howdy! Jiminy! Everything's bigger in the city!
Here it comes."
[A shadow passes overhead and he looks up, dropping his suitcase in surprise. The giant fly is buzzing around.]
Boy, howdy! Jiminy! Everything's bigger in the city!
[He runs to a building and takes the elevator to the roof. Sightseers are there as well.]
Here it comes."
[The sightseers scream as the fly buzzes them. Genghis climbs to the top of a viewing tower.]
Genghis "Tongue, don’t fail me now!"
[As the fly passes over him, Genghis snags it with his tongue. Stuck to its underbelly, Genghis is lifted into the air. In the lair, the turtles are watching television when April breaks in with a news report.]
April O’Neil "We interrupt this program to bring you a special news bulletin. A gigantic housefly has been seen over midtown."
Leonardo "I don't know what's going on, but we'd better check it out."
[The turtles take to the skies in their Turtle Blimp.]
Donatello "Okay, so where's this big bug?"
[They spot Genghis attached to the fly.]
Raphael "Now, there's something you don't see every day."
Donatello "Isn't that Genghis Frog?"
Michelangelo "Yeah. And it looks like he bit off more than he could chew."
[Genghis swings aboard the blimp.]
Genghis "Whew! You sure have got some unusual insects in this here metropolis."
Leonardo "We've got to do something about that fly."
Donatello "I think I've got the solution."
[They drop down to the Golden Glow Maple Syrup Factory and land. Michelangelo immediately opens a valve a releases a stream of syrup.]
Michelangelo "Mmm-mmm! Wish I'd brought along about fifty thousand pancakes."
[The fly lands in the puddle of syrup and gets stuck.]
Leonardo "Outstanding! Now all we need is a giant, economy-sized fly swatter."
Donatello "The big question is, where did this oversized house pest come from?"
Michelangelo "Well, I'll bet pesos to pizza its home address is Dimension X."
[Cut to the Technodrome. Using fishing rods, Bebop and Rocksteady lower two small cages containing insects into the vat of mutagen.]
Shredder "We've combed the Technodrome and come up with these three bugs. They'll be enough to start our plan of conquest."
Krang "I must congratulate you, Shredder. This might actually work."
Shredder "Of course it will work.
An army of giant insects will bring humanity to its knees. Rocksteady, Bebop, quickly, before the mutagen takes effect."
[Using a dropper, Shredder squirts mutagen on a scorpion, a mud wasp, and a mantis.]

[They toss the insects, cages and all, through the open portal. The cages hit a street in New York City and break open. The insects immediately being to grow.]
Shredder "Now let's see how Earth deals with these overgrown pests."
[Back in the Blimp, the turtles and Genghis fly over the city.]
Michelangelo "So, like, why the surprise visit, Genghis?"
Genghis "Well, it's like this. I was sitting on a lily pad one day catching flies, as I am wont to do, when I said to myself, self, is this really all life has to offer? So I came to visit my friends in the big city and have some fun."
Donatello "How come Attila, Rasputin and Napoleon didn't come with you?"
Genghis "Because crawdad season just opened, and they wanted to bag their limit."
[Leonardo’s turtlecom beeps.]
Leonardo "Leonardo here."
April "Leonardo, the city's being invaded by big bugs!"
Raphael "Oh, that's old news, April. We already took care of that oversized fly."
April "Fine. Now you can do the same for the giant wasp outside my window!"
Leonardo "We're on our way."
Genghis "Gosh, how much fun can one frog stand?"
[As the blimp heads for Channel 6, the giant scorpion begins terrorizing people. Crowds run screaming from it as the scorpion stabs at them with its stinger, which can punch through solid pavement. The scorpion approaches a truck and the driver leaps out just before the arachnid pulverizes the vehicle. The Turtle Blimp slowly lowers to the street and lands.]
Michelangelo "Dudes, that is one humongous insect!"
Donatello "Actually, it's an arachnid, not an insect."
Raphael "This is a heck of a time for a biology lesson!"
Michelangelo "Uh, anybody got the number of a really good exterminator?"
[The scorpion attacks and the group runs in different directions. Meanwhile, the wasp gathers mud from the river bank and sticks it to the side of the Channel 6 news building.]
Irma "What's it doing?"
April "It's a mud wasp. It's building a nest on the wall."
Vernon "Ew! How disgusting."
Burne Thompson "It's time to beat a strategic retreat!"
[He runs to the elevator and presses the ‘down’ button. On the streets, the mantis is chasing people. It approaches a group of utility poles and snaps apart the electrical lines with its grasping legs. At Channel 6, the lights go out.]
Vernon "What happened?"
Irma "The power's gone out."
Thompson "That means the elevators won't work!"
April "And that means... we're trapped in here!"
[The wasp has covered the entire top of the news building with mud. The mantis pulls apart a bridge as Shredder and Krang watch from their viewing monitor.]
Krang "It's only taken a few giant insects to bring the city to a standstill."
Shredder "Exactly. Humanity won't stand a chance when we use the growth mutagen on thousands more bugs."
Krang "I think it's time for plan two. Go to Earth and enlarge some ants, enough to ensure the city's collapse. There's a time-delay mechanism on this vial. Just find the nearest anthill and leave it there."
Bebop "Ooh! Ooh! Can we go too, boss?"
Shredder "No doubt I'll live to regret this, but very well."
[The pair of mutants begin fighting.]
Rocksteady "Hey, I tapped firsties."
Bebop "How'd you like a fat tusk?"
Krang "Hey, don't look at me. You created them."
[The scorpion crushes a car as it chases the turtles and Genghis.]
Raphael "This critter would sure come in handy in an auto-wrecking yard."
[The scorpion clamps onto Michelangelo and lifts him up.]
Michelangelo "Help!"
Donatello "The scorpion's got Michelangelo."
Raphael "Figured that out all by yourself, did you?"
[Michelangelo screams as the scorpion tries to pinch his head off with its other pincer. He retracts into his shell.]
Michelangelo "Do something, dudes! This thing's trying to give me a haircut!"
Genghis "Hold on, Michelangelo. My trusty ax will strike in your behalf."
[He uses his ax to break open a fire hydrant. Water sprays out and Leonardo grabs a manhole cover.]
Leonardo "Good idea, Genghis. Now for a little change of direction."
[He uses the metal cover to redirect the spray of water into the scorpion’s face. The scorpion drops Michelangelo.]
Donatello "I've got ya."
[Michelangelo falls on Donatello and they both hit the pavement.]
Raphael "Ha! Keep it up, Leonardo! It doesn't like water!"
[The scorpion roars and runs off, crashing through a fence marked with a ‘no trespassing’ sign.]
Leonardo "Let's go. We've got him right where we want him."
Michelangelo "Are you sure we don't have him right where he wants us?"
[The scorpion has entered a construction area.]
Leonardo "Keep it busy. I've got an idea."
Michelangelo "Keep it busy?"
Raphael "What are we supposed to do, take it on a shopping spree?"
Donatello "I know one thing that'll stand up against it.
Come on, Scorpio. Let's see what you're made of."
[He jumps into a steam excavator and starts it up.]
Come on, Scorpio. Let's see what you're made of."
[The scorpion backs away from the bucket and then attacks it. Donatello swings the bucket to one side and then back again, striking the scorpion. The scorpion backs away and Donatello drives after it.]
Genghis "Donatello sure is handy with a steam shovel."
Raphael "Yeah. If the super-hero business ever dries up, he could get a job as a construction worker."
Michelangelo "So, like, where's Leonardo?"
[Leonardo enters a concrete truck and starts it up. He backs it up to the edge of trench where Donatello is fighting the scorpion.]
Leonardo "Donatello, lure him this way!"
[Donatello backs the scorpion into position just under the concrete truck.]
Leonardo "This'll teach you to mix it up with the turtles!"
[He dumps concrete on the scorpion.]
Genghis "Nice goin', guys."
Michelangelo "Yeah. That oughta hold him for a while."
[Leonardo’s turtlecom beeps.]
Leonardo "Leonardo here."
April "Uh, I don't mean to be pushy, guys, but we could use some help over here-- like, immediately! The wasp has sealed all the windows, and the power's off. We're running out of air in here!"
Leonardo "Hang on, April! Help is on the way!"
[In another part of the city, Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady are crawling around in the grass.]
Bebop "Gee, you'd think it'd be easy to find ants in a vacant lot."
Rocksteady "Maybe if we had an ant call."
[The turtles and Genghis approach the news building in the blimp.]
Donatello "Ooh, it's gonna take an army of window cleaners to get this place back in shape."
[The blimp hovers next to the building. Genghis is lowered on a platform and uses his axe to break apart the mud clinging to the building. He reaches a window and opens it.]
Irma "Fresh air! Oh, I'll never complain about smog again."
Genghis "It's an honor and a privilege to be the frog who rescues so fair a maiden."
[He pulls April out of the building.]
Vernon "Hey, I should go first. After all, I'm a director."
Irma "Vernon, stuff a sock in it."
[The wasp has gathered another clump of mud and approaches the building.]
Michelangelo "Uh-oh. Looks like close encounters of the bug kind."
[The blimp angles away from the building as the wasp reaches them.]
Thompson "Hey, hey, hey! Come back here! What about us?"
Donatello "Sorry. I need room to maneuver."
[The wasp chases the blimp. In the vacant lot, Shredder and his mutants continue their search.]
Bebop "Uh, you know, boss, somehow I thought working for you would be more glamorous than this."
Rocksteady "Personally, I think this is a wild-ant chase.
Yow!"
[He puts his hand down on a mound of ants.]
Yow!"
Bebop "You found 'em! You found the ants! Oh, he found them! Ain't that great, boss?"
[He swings his arm and knocks the beaker of mutagen out of Shredder’s hand. Some of the liquid splashes past the cork.]
Shredder "Bebop, you dunderhead!"
[There’s an explosion and an ant begins to grow.]
Bebop "Uh-oh."
Krang "Shredder, what's going on? Have you found any ants yet?"
Shredder "There's been a slight complication.
I-I'll get back to you."
[They begin running from the ant.]
I-I'll get back to you."
[The wasp has continued to chase the blimp, keeping up with it despite Donatello’s maneuvers. Finally, the wasp manages to land atop the blimp envelope and punctures it. The blimp begins to fall.]
All "Whoa! Ahh!"
Donatello "Hang on. There's one chance."
[He pulls a lever and the glider detaches from the envelope. The glider makes a successful landing.]
Genghis "Whew! I must admit, there was a moment there when I thought I'd never hear the lyrical chirping of the swamp crickets again."
[They hear a screeching noise and look up to see the mantis coming around the side of a building.]
Michelangelo "Yeah, well, you just hold that thought, dude."
[The groups runs and the mantis follows them. Meanwhile, the scorpion uses its stinger to break open the concrete that covers its body. The mantis has Raphael and Leonardo backed against a wall, but before it can attack, a noise turns its head and it sees the scorpion. The mantis and scorpion face off in the middle of the street. They begin fighting, causing a lot of collateral damage in the process.]
April "We've gotta do something before they wreck the whole city! "
Genghis "Boy, we sure could use some of that bug spray they use down in the swamp."
Donatello "That gives me an idea! Listen."
[Still being chased by the ant, Shredder and his mutants squeeze into a tight opening between two buildings.]
Shredder "This is all your fault."
Rocksteady "Our fault? You was the one what dropped the mutagen."
Shredder "I've had enough of this!
Now, do something about that ant!"
[He shoves both mutants into the open.]
Now, do something about that ant!"
[The ant lunges at them and both shout and run in opposite directions.]
Rocksteady "I'm out of here!
Back, Simba! Back!"
[The ant chases him. Rocksteady breaks off a light post and strikes the ant with it.]
Back, Simba! Back!"
[Bebop grabs the chains off an areaway and swings it around before lassoing the ants neck. They tie the chain to a metal rack.]
Shredder "All right. Don't stand about, patting yourselves on the back."
Bebop "Boy, that's gratitude for ya."
[Michelangelo, Raphael, and Genghis have arrived at the Acme Float Builders warehouse.]
Michelangelo "Whoa, this place is mondo mysterioso."
Genghis "Golly! I've never seen anything like this before."
Raphael "Hey, these are balloon floats used in the Thanksgiving Day parade."
Michelangelo "So what are we doing here?"
Raphael "We don't have time to repair the Turtle Blimp, so we gotta find a substitute. And I think we just found it."
[He points up at a giant hot air balloon shaped like a dog. Back at the vacant lot, Shredder retrieves the beaker full of mutagen.]
Shredder "This time I want no foul-ups from you two."
Rocksteady "Right, boss."
Bebop "Cross our hearts and hope to die."
[Shredder contacts Krang on his comlink. A trail of ants walk towards his feet.]
Shredder "Open the portal. We'll want a quick getaway when these ants start growing."
Krang "It'll take a few minutes to power up the equipment."
Shredder "In just a few minutes, the city will be invaded by hordes of giant ants.
It's moments like this that I live for."
[He chuckles.]

[April, Leonardo, and Donatello stand atop the Bug Off Exterminating Co building. Near them are bug spraying equipment. They are all looking up towards the sky.]
Donatello "They should've been here by now."
April "How will we know them when we see them?"
Leonardo "They're kinda hard to miss."
[The dog parade balloon drifts down to them. The door on the basket suspended beneath the balloon opens and the three enter with their equipment.]
Raphael "All right! It's bug-busters to the rescue!"
[They reach the street where the mantis and scorpion are still fighting.]
Leonardo "Now let's see if Bug-Off lives up to its name."
[He and Donatello spray the pair of insects. Screeching, both of them run away. The group in the balloon cheer.]
Genghis "Uh-oh. Don't look now, but a large, unfriendly fellow air traveler is headed our way."
[The wasp comes directly at them.]
Michelangelo "Sting our blimp, huh? Take that!"
[He sprays the wasp with a thick cloud of Bug-Off. It turns and flies away. When the reach the fly, still stuck in the syrup, and spray it. The fly pulls loose and retreats. They next spray the ant, which breaks its chain and runs.]
Raphael "Not meaning to be picky, but just where are we herding these oversized house pests?"
Donatello "There."
[Below them is the vacant lot where Shredder and his mutants are waiting for their portal. Shredder presses the button to start the time-delay mutagen and then realizes he has company.]
Shredder "What?"
[He jumps aside as the giant ant charges. The portal opens and the giant ant jumps through.]
Krang "No! Shoo! Shoo! Go find a picnic or something!"
[Shredder, Bebop, and Rocksteady shout as they see the rest of the insects running towards them. The trio leap through the portal and into the Technodrome.]
Shredder "Krang, Krang, close the portal!"
Krang "I can't reach the switch!"
[The insects all race through the portal and the group in the balloon cheer. Inside the Technodrome, the insects menace the villains.]
Krang "Well, any more bright ideas?"
Shredder "I don't suppose we might happen to have a few thousand feet of flypaper on board."
[Back at the turtles’ lair, the group shares a pizza.]
Genghis "Now, that there was a most bodacious adventure! What do you guys usually do after saving the world?"
Michelangelo "Well, dude, usually we just kick back, scarf a little pizza and watch a little TV."
Genghis "I can relate to that!
Oh, look. A classic of sci-fi cinema-- Attack of the fifty-foot Boll Weevil."
[He uses the remote to turn on the TV. A movie monster moves through the streets of the city.]

Raphael "Yeah, maybe there's something good on the radio."
