Bedtime for bozos DVD case late fee

In Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Bedtime for Bozos is a classic Lou Jitsu martial arts film.

History[]

Bedtime for Bozos was first depicted in "Late Fee". Splinter had rented it from Ron's Rentals for his sons to watch, and then instructed them to return the video before midnight with promise of giving them all hugs as a reward. But when the Turtles went to return the video, the obviously long-closed rental store was demolished before their eyes. They spent hours trekking through New York City to find a suitable working video rental kiosk or video return slot to deposit the video, only to accidentally destroy each rental kiosk they came across. Bedtime for Bozos was suddenly stolen by Ghostbear who, recognizing it was something the Turtles cared about, wished to destroy it. Ghostbear sped away on his motorcycle with the Turtles in pursuit and eventually they all arrived at a functioning movie rental return slot and Ghostbear was fooled by the Turtles into returning the DVD on time for them.

Bedtime for Bozos was depicted in "Shadow of Evil". Foot Lieutenant carried a DVD copy of it to convey his love for Lou Jitsu films after discovering Foot Clan recruit Randall was secretly Lou Jitsu.

Trivia[]

  • The bigger humor behind Bedtime for Bozos as a plot device, and of the entire episode it appears in, is that Splinter is himself actually Lou Jitsu (though his sons did not know this yet), and he sent his sons on a wild goose chase to return a copy of one his own video productions he had supposedly rented, in an era when most brick-and-mortar video rental stores had already long since gone out of business.
