Bebop and Rocksteady in the 1987 TV series are two former members of a New York City street gang.
After being defeated by the Turtles and later being mutated by Shredder in Enter the Shredder, they are once again defeated by the Turtles.
They spend the first half of Season 2 in the Technodrome on a rocky world in Dimension X, following Krang's original refusal to send them back to Earth.
After reuniting with Shredder on Earth, they spend many times breaking into power stations as Shredder and Krang look for Technodrome fuel. Usually failing, and ending up defeated by the Turtles, they are often insulted by Krang and Shredder. However, they manage to succeed breaking into the Malyk Missile Plant in The Big Rip-Off.
In Bebop and Rocksteady Conquer the Universe, they steal the anxietron ray and zap people, making them scared of almost everything.[1] They also almost kill Splinter, as they tie him with ropes to railway tracks but at the end, Donatello frees Splinter before the train runs over him.
During the Vacation in Europe sideseason, they visit Europe.
Their final appearance in the series occurs in Turtle Trek, when fighting against the Turtles inside the Technodrome on Balaraphon.
When Krang and Shredder leave the 1987 TV series Earth in Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady, 1987 TV series Bebop and Rocksteady are left behind. At the end of The Big Blow-Out!, the 1987 TV series Turtles return to 1987 TV series Earth and tell the 1987 TV series Bebop and Rocksteady to enjoy their lives instead of working for Krang and Shredder.
While sometimes fighting with baseball bats and knives, they usually carry the Stun Lasers.
