Summary[]

The Turtles and April O'Neil stand outside of the Manhattan Security building. Raffaello asks if she’s sure they’ll find some trace in there and she tells him that Manhattan Security was in charge of surveillance of all the businesses that were burgled. Donatello comments that they must be bad at security and April replies maybe… or very clever as thieves. April starts towards the building and tells the Turtles that she’ll see them later, as they might attract attention. Donatello wonders how, since they are so cute dressed up as Humphrey Bogart.

Inside, April spots an open door and since no one has noticed her, she decides to investigate. She peeks inside and sees a secretary handing a sheet of paper to a pair of ninjas. She tells them it is a list of companies to be cleaned tonight. April races out of the building and to the nearest pay phone. She places a call to her boss, Barney Thompson, telling him she has extraordinary news. Before she can continue, the ninjas grab her.

Still waiting outside, the Turtles are alarmed at how long April has been gone. They find an item belonging to April near the phone booth and then hear April calling for help from the roof of the security building. Donatello leaps up and grabs the emergency ladder so they can climb up to the roof. When they reach the top, April calls out that it’s a trap. The Turtles do battle with the ninjas and swiftly discover that they are robots. They destroy most of them, but a few head for the rooftop exit. April calls out that they’re trying to get away and Leonardo says to follow them.

The Turtles track the ninjas into the Manhattan Security headquarters. On the main view screen is Shredder. Donatello guesses he is the boss of the bad guys. He asks Shredder where he got his costume because he wants one for carnival. Shredder responds by introducing himself and says they will regret meeting him. He orders one of the ninjas to activate Operation Flood. The ninja presses the button on a pipe and water begins flooding the room.

As the water rises, Leonardo asks if everyone can swim. Shredder laughs and tells them they will never reach the Tecnodromo. Donatello replies that they don’t even know what it is. The Turtles grab some tables and turn them upside down to use as paddle boards. Calling his a “yacht”, Raffaello invites April aboard. They soon reach the roof and Leonardo urges everyone to hurry, as the water is still rising right behind them. Donatello says that the building next door looks less damp. Leonardo twirls a Turtle Line and hooks an antenna on the building across the way. April hangs onto Donatello’s shoulders as the Turtles slide across the line to safety.

They are just in time as water explodes from the top of the building and the structure breaks apart. Donatello comments that at least this will give the streets a little clean-up. Soon, the Turtles and April are in the lair. Leonardo, wearing a hood, tells Splinter that the ninjas all wore one like it. This worries Splinter, who believes they are from the Il Clan del Piede, the clan of evil ninjas led by his enemy Oroku Saki. He is afraid they’ll give them trouble. Michelangelo tells his master not to worry because they’ll have to deal with his secret weapon. Splinter wants to know what he is talking about. The other three Turtles arrive with a giant pizza and Michelangelo says it’s his new pizza with anchovies, gorgonzola cheese and candied apricot.

Notes and errors[]

  • In her first outing with the Turtles, April calls Raffaello "Leonardo", similar to how she called them by the wrong names in "Turtle Tracks", the first episode of the 1987 TV series.
