April O'Neil is a news reporter and the Hero Turtles' best human friend. She appears in the Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles Adventures comics.

April's televised news report on the anniversary of the "Pizza King", Pietro Piccolino, and how he intends to celebrate by giving away pizza draws the attention of the Turtles. They immediately don disguises and hurry to Piccolino's Pizza Palace, making certain to be first in line. They score several free pizzas and return with them to the lair. However, the pizza was actually made by Shredder and a crew of Footbots as part of a Krang plot. After the Turtles consume the pizza, which is drugged, they fall fast asleep. The second part of the plan involves Shredder dressing up as the Pied Piper of Hamelin and luring Splinter out of the lair. After receiving five hundred reports from citizens who have seen the 'Pied Piper', Burne Thompson sends April out to report on the event. She soon discovers the drugged Turtles. Opening a spigot over an overhead water pipe, the spray of water revives the Turtles. Pied Piper (comic)
