Synopsis[]

The Turtles, Casey Jones and April O'Neil are running the rooftops, having just eaten at Murakami’s and now beginning their night patrol. April catches her foot on a loose brick and both Donatello and Casey drop back to check on her. Don offers to hang back to stay with her, but Casey makes a counter offer of a romantic stroll.

April marches away from them, saying she’s fine, when suddenly senses something. The group stops to peer down to the street below and see Kraang Normans loading a van with mutagen. Looking through binoculars, Don observes that there is enough ooze there to make retro-mutagen.

Three of the Turtles leap down and engage with the Kraang, but Don and Casey are still on the roof, arguing over who will protect April. In the meantime, she has started down the fire escape in order to join the fight. Don swings his arm while arguing, knocks some bricks loose, and they nearly hit April. She fusses at both of them and then the trio joins the fight, though Raphael has a snide remark about how late they are. April says to tell it to Donnie and Casey because they seem to think she needs bodyguards.

As April is about to take on a Kraang, Casey steps in and bashes it, bragging that he’s saved the day. When April turns to deal with another Kraang, it’s Don to her supposed rescue. Finally April yells at them to go somewhere else and to get out of her way. Instead, the two males turn to growl and insult each other, neither noticing that April is captured by the Kraang and tossed into the van.

It's only after the van drives away that they notice April is no longer there. Inside the van, the Kraang are going to take April to the “secret place” and that Kraang Prime will be very pleased. April manages to maneuver her tessen out of her pocket and cut the ropes binding her.

Back at the warehouse, Don and Casey are blaming each other for April’s kidnapping and the others are fed up with it. Michelangelo grabs a nearby water hose and sprays the arguing pair, stopping their bickering. Leonardo then tells the group that they are going to rescue April and that they’re going to do it as a team.

Don immediately calls point, only to have Casey race off next to him and say that he will, must to Leo’s disgust. Back in the van, April has freed herself and is about to jump the three Kraang in the front, when the back doors are yanked open by Don and Casey. A grappling hook line whips around her body and April is pulled out of the van, surprising the pair.

It turns out Leo was the one who “roped” April and he catches her, telling her that now she’s safe. But then the driver of a huge truck lays on his horn because he is bearing down on the group who are standing in the middle of the street. The driver manages to stop just short of Leo’s shell. Leo tells the man to go after the van.

Meanwhile, Casey and Don are inside the van, fighting the three Kraang. One of them realizes that no one is actually driving and the van crashes, throwing the Kraang through the windshield. Don is thrilled that all of the mutagen belongs to them now, but then a contingent of Kraang approach from a nearby warehouse.

They surround Don and Casey, who are fighting them when the others arrive. Leo says that they will flank the Kraang to get the pair out of there. He points to a rooftop where two Kraang snipers are stationed and tells April to get up three and take them out. She is surprised he’s letting her do it by herself, but he tells her it’s part of her Kunoichi training. Thrilled, she hugs and thanks him before climbing the ladder to the roof.

When the other Turtles join the fight, Don is happy that the cavalry has arrived. Casey asks about April and they spot her on the roof, behind an air duct near the snipers. Positive that she’s taking cover and is unaware of the Kraang, the two start shouting warnings at her, only succeeding in telling the enemy where she is. Coming out of hiding, April mutters that she’s going to pound the pair before attacking the Normans. She kicks their heads off, forgetting that they don’t actually need them.

The headless Normans grab her, but in her struggles she rips their coats, loses her balance, and falls. As the rest of the group fights, they suddenly hear popping noises, making Mikey think of popcorn. Raph growls at him to focus, because the Kraang have captured Donnie and Casey. The popping sound turns out to be coming from an open dumpster into which April has fallen. She sits up and finds that she’s landed on bubble-wrap, making it what she calls the “luckiest unlucky” night ever.

Before she can climb out of the dumpster, a trio of Purple Dragon gang members spot her. Fong says that the Shredder will be happy to see her and tells the others to grab April. She stops them with a proposition, explaining that around in front of the warehouse is a crashed van filled with mutagen. She suggests that Shredder would pay a good price for all that ooze.

Fong likes this idea and he and his cronies race towards the van. The Kraang turn their attention to the Purple Dragons and April uses her tessen to cut the ropes holding Don and Casey. She then tells them to follow her up a ladder and leads them across rooftops to where the other Turtles are waiting.

Mikey greets them, asking what’s up, and Don tells him they lost the mutagen. Raph wants to know how they got free and saved April, but both admit she saved them. In low tones, they thank her and apologize, but April tells them to speak up because the others didn’t hear. As the group heads out, both Don and Casey very loudly repeat their thanks and their apologies for underestimating her.
