The Apocalyptopus was a monster sent down by Rita Repulsa to attack the Power Rangers with a troupe of Putty Patrollers. It is easily dispatched when the Rangers combine their weapons together to form the Power Blaster.
Later at the Angel Grove Juice Bar and Gym, Trini complains that "King Calamari" kept her from studying for a physics test, which she failed. Billy tries correcting her by telling her that a squid would only have two tentacles, but decides to shut up.
