Anubis is the Egyptian god of the dead and mummification, and is often depicted as having the head of an African golden wolf (previously identified with the golden jackal). In Halls of Lost Legends, Anubis is the first being to be depicted in Locke's flashback telling of how all characters of myths and legends existed at one time.
