Some TMNT stuff really isn't for little kids. |
In TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Destroy Everything!, there is a baby velociraptor who is "kicked out" of Bebop and Rocksteady's prehistoric "gang" for being a runt. After tussling with Pepperoni, he is found by Raphael, and later travels through time with the Turtles. Raphael named him Anchovy. He was later seen in the back of Bebop and Rocksteady's Cruiser.
Anchovy continues to tag along with Bebop and Rockteady in TMNT: Bebop & Rocksteady Hit the Road, and initiates a running gag where he attacks and rescues Bebop and Rocksteady just in the nick of time. In issue #1, Bebop and Rocksteady start retro-mutating, which is actually a temporal effect covertly placed on them by Savanti Romero, who wants to use their fear of losing their mutations to coerce them into becoming his minions again. When they first notice that Rocksteady's ear has turned back into a human ear, Rocksteady panics and cuts it off with a knife, throwing it off their cruiser. Anchovy runs after the severed ear and eats it, much to Bebop and Rocksteady's disapproval. From then on, Anchovy starts noticeably growing in size, becoming bigger with each issue.
Savanti is captured by the Time Police in issue #3, and Bebop and Rocksteady's mutation fully restores without the effects of Savanti's temporal field. By issue #5, Anchovy has not only grown human-sized, but during the showdown between Bebop, Rocksteady and EPF Special Agent Ravenwood, Anchovy unexpectedly picks up an automatic firearm with his hands and correctly operates it, making Ravenwood realize that Anchovy is a mutant. By the end of Hit the Road, Bebop and Rocksteady have accepted Anchovy as a member of their gang, and give him a new musical-themed gang name: N'sho-v, named after the music they had listened to while in Savanti's stolen transdimensional craft.
