Ananda is the daughter of Battling Bernice, a super heroine who together with her friends Stainless Steel Steve, Metal Head, Zippy Lad, Dr. Dome, Joey Lastic and Captain Deadbolt founded the super hero team the Justice Force. All the time Doctor Dome harbored feelings for Bernice, however, they were not reciprocated, especially since Bernice was hopelessly in love with Steve. Finally, the Justice Force separated, Bernice gave up her superhero life, got married and had a daughter.
One day, former Justice Force member Dr. Dome began attacking his ex-teammates with his old Domeoids to draw his beloved Bernice out of hiding. However, it turned out that his love for Bernice was unrequited, as was hers for Stainless Steel Steve. Bernice, like the other members of the Justice Force, had moved on with her life, and died three years prior to Dome's attacks. Bernice's daughter Ananda, who was drawn out instead of Bernice, relayed all of this to Dr. Dome, and thus brought him to his senses.

In the Mirage Comics, Ananda has inherited her mother's super-strength.
Trivia[]
In the original Mirage series, her father is never revealed. In the 2003 series, Ananda's father is Dr. Dome and has also inherited his Domebot-controlling ability.
- She is similar to DC's Black Canary as they both were super heroines whose mothers were previously Super Heroes and, after they went into retirement or died, their daughters would carry on their legacy.
