Professor Albert McGuffin is a scientist who works at the TCRI complex in New York City. He is a recurring character in the Saturday Morning Adventures comics.
History[]
Professor Albert McGuffin is interviewed in his lab at the TCRI complex by April O'Neil. One of the foremost scientific minds in the city, McGuffin has invented a device which he says will give an advantage to any army on the planet. McGuffin tells April that violence is a long-term concern and he believes his device could play at part in ending it. Before he can explain what it does, Shredder, Bebop, Rocksteady and Thrum arrive to steal the device. Responding to April's S.O.S., the Turtles swoop in to save the day. The two groups begin battling over the device, until Thrum accidentally breaks it during a tug-of-war with Michelangelo. They are both zapped by the device, which has no affect on Mikey but changes Thrum's personality. After the bad guys flee the building, McGuffin explains that the device was never a weapon. It was specifically attuned to end conflict by helping aggressive people see the perspectives of those they attacked. The changes, however, are not permanent. For Those About to Rock
Out chasing criminals one night, Casey Jones takes a shortcut across the testing grounds at the TCRI laboratories. Professor McGuffin tries to warn him off, but he's too late, as Casey is hit by a strange energy which gave him superpowers. April and the Turtles visit McGuffin to try to learn what happened. McGuffin tells them that there is an antidote, but Casey must ingest it by midnight or his changes will be permanent. SuperCasey
Notes and trivia[]
- A MacGuffin, sometimes spelled McGuffin, is an insignificant or unremarkable plot device, item, or event that facilitates the characters' motivations. Professor McGuffin often serves to send the Turtles out on chases for plot MacGuffins.
- It is unknown if he has any relation at all to Mugsy McGuffin, a minor antagonist in this same continuity.
