The Aeons are powerful, ancient aliens and the first beings to evolve in the universe. They are also peacekeeping guardians of the planet Xaava-Dal.

History[]

Riddle of The Ancient Aeons[]

Centuries ago, the Utrom Bishop entrusted a fragment of the Heart of Darkness to the Aeons for safekeeping. Having never allowed technology on Xaava-Dal, the Aeons became intrigued by the fragment, so much that they began to worship the fragment. However, as a result, it caused them to lock their Soul Star away and become corrupted, turning them into demonic versions of themselves, as well as corrupting their planet.

When the Turtles and Triceratons came to Xaava-Dal in search of the fragment, the corrupted Aeons attacked both sides. As the Triceratons got away with the fragment, April O'Neil finds the Soul Star and returns it to its rightful place atop the pyramid, restoring the Aeons and their world to their pure form. In gratitude, the Aeons give April a piece of the Soul Star to provide her with luck and power.

The Power Inside Her[]

A female demon bat Aeon possesses April. After doing so, this demon bat tells the others that she is one of the first seven stuck in the Soul Star. Later, she forces April to disintegrate Donatello, only leaving his mask behind. After April’s crystal is broken, the true form is released. Luckily, April immediately kills her in a very brief fit of rage at the monster for all of the trouble she caused and brings back Donnie since he never died in the first place.

Trivia[]

  • The word aeon, also spelled eon and æon (in American English), originally meant "life", "vital force" or "being", "generation" or "a period of time", though it tended to be translated as "age" in the sense of "ages", "forever", "timeless" or "for eternity". It is a Latin transliteration from the koine Greek word ὁ αἰών (ho aion), from the archaic αἰϝών (aiwon). In Homer it typically refers to life or lifespan.
    • Although the term aeon may be used in reference to a period of a billion years (especially in geology, cosmology or astronomy), its more common usage is for any long, indefinite, period. Aeon can also refer to the four aeons on the Geologic Time Scale that make up the Earth's history.
  • The Aeons pure form resemble angels, while their corrupted form resemble demons.
  • The Aeons have a third shining eye on their foreheads, in some cultures the third eye (also known as the inner eye) is a mystical and esoteric concept referring to a speculative invisible eye which provides perception beyond ordinary sight, establishing the Aeons as enlightened beings.
  • Their demon form resemble Scrag mutant form in the 1987 series, barring the clothes, hair, and cyclops glasses.
