Acme Research is a New York City research and scientific equipment company in the 1987 TV series.
History[]
A warehouse belonging to Acme Research was the location of a prospective media stakeout by a Channel 6 News film crew led by reporter April O'Neil in the first episode of the series. The stakeout was in response to a series of high-tech equipment heists performed by Ninjas belonging to the Foot Clan. After conducting several interviews at the previously hit locations, April advocated for the stakeout of the Acme Research facility which Vernon Fenwick disagreed with citing the risk of their own equipment being stolen.
Before an agreement could be reached, the crew were approached by an gang of thugs that had been organized and sent by The Shredder to intimidate and dissuade April from continuing her investigation. At this point three of the film crew's members fled on foot leaving April alone to face the thugs.
ACME Research later appears in the episode Usagi Come Home, and Rufus Winterbottom works for the company.[1]
Location[]
The Acme Research warehouse was located in a part Manhattan that April referred to as Technology Central.
